Supervision

Susan is available for supervision to those working as Sexological Bodyworkers, Counsellors or other helping professionals interested in working with sex and intimacy. Support and mentorship are also available to students of Sexological Bodywork. Sessions are in person or via zoom.

Untouched – A Two Day Workshop for Pracitioners

Practical Tools to Resource Victim / Survivors of Gendered Violence Reclaim Sex and Intimacy

This two-day workshop is aimed at those working alongside victim/survivors of gendered violence.

Using a feminist, body-based approach we will build on worker’s existing support skills, expanding your capacity and confidence to work directly with issues related to sex and intimacy. This training upskills practitioners to support victim/survivors reclaim sex and intimacy as powerful sites of healing and transformation. The workshop will blend theoretical frameworks with practical tools, providing a foundational practice space for workers to begin applying and reflecting on embodiment processes.

Day 1 focuses on foundational embodiment/somatic skills key to working with sex & intimacy.

Topics include:

  • Foundations of embodiment counselling
  • Creating embodied safety via grounding, centring & containing
  • Resilient edge of resistance
  • Working with triggers & flashbacks via bottom-up processes
  • Impacts of sexual violence on sex & intimacy

Day 2 focuses directly on the skills needed to support victim/survivors to reclaim sex & intimacy as sites of healing and transformation.

Topics include:

  • Myths and misconceptions about sex & intimacy
  • Sexual shame
  • 3 components of pleasure
  • Reclaiming touch
  • Somatic consent
  • Aftercare

About my Co-Facilitator:

Kendra Russell (she/her) – is a social worker currently living in Melbourne/Naarm with 5+ years experience working in sexual & gender-based violence as both a counsellor and community educator. She has a passion for working at intersections of feminism, trauma, and somatic healing. Kendra is currently completing her PhD in Criminology at the University of Melbourne, examining the relationships between sexual assault counselling frameworks and socio-politicised spiritual healing.
